8:00 A.M. Update:
Delta remains a tropical storm, but a much weaker one with max winds of 40 mph moving north-northeast at 16 mph. Along with the storm weakening, our rainfall continues to lighten up and clear out. At this time, flash flood watches have been cancelled for the eastern half of the ArkLaMiss, but areas will remain under the watch until 1 P.M. this afternoon. Those flash flood warnings are still set to expire at 8:45 A.M.
Winds have also improved greatly with speeds ranging anywhere from 10-15 mph. In the twin cities, breezy winds continue at 20-25 mph with gusts up to about 30-35 mph. This is still a big improvement from our winds we were seeing early this morning. In fact our Tropical Storm Warnings have been cancelled.
Power outage numbers will continue to gradually increase throughout the day. So far, Ouachita Parish has the most at 36,000+ customers without power.
5:30 A.M. Update:
Not too much to add to the latest update on Delta. It still holds on to tropical storm strength with max winds of 45 mph. Area of circulation is still located near Richland and Franklin Parish, just to the east of West Monroe. Winds to our west are continuing to back off anywhere from 10-20 mph. Areas to our east, will continue to see breezy winds anywhere from 25-35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph+
4:30 A.M. Update:
Delta continues to have max sustained winds of 45 mph. The center of circulation is moving east of the twin cities, and areas on the west side of the circulation are beginning to see wind back off just a bit. To the west, winds range from about 10-20 mph. Near the center of circulation is where some of the more stronger winds are. Along I-20, winds continue at 25-30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph+.
Rainfall continues to lighten up just a bit, especially towards our southern and western parishes. Some more light to moderate rainfall is located mostly north of I-20 and along the Louisiana/Arkansas border. A couple of flash flood warnings remain in place for Caldwell, La Salle, Winn, Grant, Jackson, Lincoln, Ouachita, and Union parishes until 8:45 A.M.
3:30 A.M. Update:
Delta remains a tropical storm but has weakened a bit more. It now has max sustained winds of 45 mph and continues to move north-northeast at 16 mph. Winds continue to stay rather gusty at about 20-30 mph and gusts up to about 40 mph across North Louisiana. Winds are picking up just slightly in South Arkansas but still remain in the 20-30 mph range with gusts up to 45 mph. Even rainfall is beginning to lighten up just a bit with rain slowly clearing in some of our Southeastern Parishes, including Catahoula and Concordia. We still anticipate a weakening trend to continue into the rest of the morning.
This weakening trend will continue through the morning, with many of the impacts out of our area by the second half of Saturday. Flash Flooding is ongoing across our area, so if you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around, don’t drown.

2:30 A.M. Update:
Not much has changes since the previous update, but winds continue to slowly weaken across the area. Much of the previous update stands.
Stronger wind gusts continue to work their way northward as the center of Delta is nearly into the ArkLaMiss, but we’re seeing wind intensity slowly decreasing. Still, current wind numbers are generally on track for the next few hours.
Locations south of I-20 are seeing sustained winds of 30-40 MPH, with gusts closer to 50+ MPH. Were seeing sustained winds of 20-30 MPH for locations along I-20, with gusts of 40-50+ MPH. Further north into Southern Arkansas, sustained winds are at 10-15 MPH, with gusts of 20-25+ MPH.
This is about how strong our winds are going to be, with intensity slowly decreasing through the night into tomorrow morning. Power outages are starting to become more widespread across the ArkLaMiss, with the highest amount in Ouachita parish.. We will continue to keep you updated as these winds move through.

11:30 P.M. Update:

Locations south of I-20 are seeing sustained winds of 25-35 MPH, with gusts closer to 40-50+ MPH. Were seeing sustained winds of 20-25+ MPH for locations along I-20, with gusts of 30-40 MPH. Further north into Southern Arkansas, sustained winds are at 10-15 MPH, with gusts of 20-25+ MPH.
As Delta continues to weaken, the wind speeds currently occurring across our southern locations will generally be the limit as to how strong our winds will get. Most locations along an El Dorado to Ruston to Winnfield line and East will see conditions like this occurring for the next 4-6 hours.
We’re also starting to receive some reports of power outages across our southern-most parishes. We will continue to update you every hour online, as well as on-air at the top of the hour.
10:30 P.M. Update:
Winds are starting to pick up as Delta continues to move into our area. Sustained winds of 20-30 MPH are occurring mainly south of I-20, with gusts 50+ MPH. 10-20 MPH winds are occurring along the I-20 corridor, with gusts primarily between 30-40+ MPH. 5-15 MPH winds are occurring into Southern Arkansas, with gusts around 20+ MPH. Heavy rainfall continues to be an issue, with some locations already reaching a half of foot of rain.
