Will SSA provide sign language interpreters for video calls?

I am hopeful this will work. I spent several days on hold for 1-2 hours each. All but 1 time the call was disconnected, cut off, and I never got to a person. When I finally got a person, I was told information that I would be contacted for an appointment. That never happened. Something that could have been a quick phone discussion ended up in me taking time off work to take my 83 yr old recently widowed mother downtown to learn she was all set. I hope you can do better moving forward.

I am sure now with Video connect, the first time you call hopefully the automated system will register your call and once your information is verified, it will send you a email with your appointment with a link for the Microsoft Teams meeting. This way all callers are registered and they are delegated to SS busy staff, who will take care of your business on the date and time informed in the email.

This is great! I have been thinking about ways to conduct business digitally. I hoped the agency would catch up and streamline operations. The website provides excellent information. If we have a profile we could use links associated with it for security and safety. For example, I’m in the process of changing my W-4 voluntary tax amount. I was told during my interview I could change the percentage anytime over the phone. But this isn’t accurate. Let’s see what happens.

This is great news! This will really benefit a lot of people, especially those with transportation challenges and/or who are unable to leave their homes, and/or have immunity issues. Thank you for this new option! 🙂

Why is it that the person on SSI and they have a payee that steals the SSI persons money has to take them to civil court? Why is it so hard to submit paper proof they had funds stolen from payee?
ReplyBenjamin S.
Why does SSI hang up in further violations of our rights when questioned on ongoing 508c violations?
