  1. Have the user sign out of Zoom on all applications (desktop and web client)
  2. Have the user go to uri-edu.zoom.us and sign in
  3. Once they get to the home screen of Zoom’s webpage, they should be able to access Zoom through Brightspace

They can check the directory online to verify if their information is correct. If any of their information is incorrect, they can go to e-Campus → Self Service → URI Directory Profile to change their home phone #, preferred name, campus phone & fax #, email address, and web page address. Faculty should contact HR.

No, Jabber can only be used with a URI phone number that is displayed in the directory for only one person.

(Z9)If the user gets the error message, “The user does not exist or belong to this account(1001)” when trying to go to the Zoom tab in Brightspace, why does this usually happen? How could this be fixed?

  1. This usually happens because the user most likely signed up for a Zoom account with their URI email before URI acquired the university Zoom license
  2. Have the user sign out of Zoom on all applications (desktop and web client)
  3. Have the user go to uri-edu.zoom.us and sign in or go to the Zoom desktop client, click sign in with SSO, enter uri-edu as the domain, and sign in with SSO credentials

Need to be host, hit the Breakout tab at the top of the already started meeting and hit “Enable Breakout Session”

  1. User’s personal phone (point of contact)
  2. User’s office phone
  3. Type of device they will be using it on (ex. iPhone, PC, Mac)
  4. Double check that they are listed in the directory with their proper phone number. If no phone number is listed they have to follow the instructions at the bottom of the directory to make it visible.
