RAND, Peter Vincent RAND, Peter Vincent - 75, of Scott's Bay Road, Kings Co., passed away Friday, February 22, 2008, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, after a battle with cancer. Born on November 14, 1932, in Baxter's Harbour, he was a son of the late Ethel Rose Rand and Joshua Hazel, and stepson of Joseph Sheffield. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, the former Rosanna Lundrigan of Burin, N.L.; sons, Ronald (Susan), Kenneth (Denise); grandchildren, Dianna, Kristina, Zachery, Amber, and Tamara; brother, Lewis; sister, Eileen. He was predeceased by brothers, Henry, John, David, Spicer, Joseph, Rodney; sister, Marie. A public gathering of family and friends and time of reception will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 28, in White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. LeBLANC, Hilda Madeline "Tuddie" LeBLANC, Hilda Madeline "Tuddie" - 88, Villa St. Joseph du Lac, Dayton, Yarmouth Co., passed away February 24, 2008, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital, with her family by her side. Born on October 10, 1919, in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Alice (Muise) Martinelli. Tuddie was always close to her church and participated in all church functions. She was close to her family and was a very kindhearted person. Tuddie is survived by daughters, Shirley (George) Allen, Yarmouth; Mary (Gerald) Muise, Kelly's Cove; sister, Viola Martinelli, Villa St. Joseph du Lac; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and seven great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Stewart Amos; second husband, Walter Stoodley; third husband, Martin LeBlanc; grandson, Mark Muise; brothers, Douglas, Ralph and Melbourne in infancy, and sister, Edith Mooring. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny's Funeral Home, Yarmouth, where visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 27, at 2 p.m. in New Life Church with Pastor Larry Pennell officiating. Burial will take place in the spring in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Tuddie may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. CODY, John George CODY, John George - 66, Chester, died peacefully in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, on February 24, 2008, with his family at his side. He was born December 20, 1941, in Ottawa, Ont., a son of the late Patrick Leo and Elizabeth (O'Neill) Cody. John was a member of the R.C.M.P. for 30 years. Serving in Halifax, Windsor, Digby, Sackville, Yarmouth, Chester, Lunenburg, and the training division, he retired in 1992 at the rank of Sergent. John leaves behind children, daughter, Lisa Cody (Darren Leary), Falmouth; son, Sean, Halifax; daughter, Elizabeth, St. John's, N.L.; grandson, Christopher Leary, Falmouth; and stepson, Mike Conklin, Bridgewater. Raised in Brockville, Ont., John was part of a large and loving family. He is survived by siblings, Maurice (Mary), Halifax; Patricia Boulton, Brockville, Ont.; Michael (Helene), Toronto, Ont.; David, (Donna), Brockville, Ont.; Mary-Ellen Jenkinson, Brockville, Ont.; Kathy Putman (Bill), Prescott, Ont.; William (Debra), Brockville, Ont.; Peter, (Bonnie), Brockville, Ont.; Irene Hutton, (Steve), Brockville, Ont., and 21 nieces and nephews. Previously married to Judith Cody, Windsor, and Helena Cody, Lunenburg, he will be missed by his special friend, Diane Conrad, Chester. He was predeceased by his parents and brother-in-law, Mel Boulton. Family was important to John but he was also very actively involved in his community. He was Right Worshipful Brother and Past Master of Unity Masonic Lodge in Lunenburg, and served as Director of Ceremonies for Clarke Lodge in Chester. John also served as Deputy Grand Master for Lunenburg/Queens counties in 2003-2004 and was a member of the Scottish Rite. He was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Shriners, Royal Canadian Legion and Chester/Lunenburg Curling Club. He coached the Special Olympic Curling Team. Visitation will be held today from 7-8:30 p.m. in Davis Funeral Home, Chester, including a Royal Canadian Legion service, a Masonic service and an Order of the Eastern Star service. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 27, at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church, Hubbards, Father Chinedu Chukwu officiating, followed by a reception at the Chester Branch Royal Canadian Legion. The family would like to thank the wonderful doctors and nurses at the ICU, Halifax Infirmary, QEII, for their excellent care and compassion over the past weeks. DIMOCK, Lewis Henry DIMOCK, Lewis Henry - 83, Falmouth, Hants Co., passed away on Monday, February 25, 2008, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on June 30, 1924, in Sudbury, Ont., he was the son of the late Victor and Nellie (Davis) Dimock. Lewis was a heavy equipment operator most of his life and had worked for numerous contractors. He was also a long-time farm operator in Hants County. He enjoyed traveling and especially those Sunday drives. Lewis served in the Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, the former, Minnie Louise Burgess; son, Wayne (Crystal Lunn), Falmouth; brothers, Raymond (Ruby), Wasaga Beach, Ont.; Charles (Elizabeth), Toronto, Ont.; Maurice (Julie), Scotch Village; stepchildren, Bill (Kathy) Livingstone, Calgary, Alta.; Tom (Lynn) Livingstone, Okanagan Valley, B.C.; Debbie (Klaus) Heckersbuch, Greenfield Park, Que.; Janice Girvan, Bridgewater; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Lewis, was predeceased by his twin sisters, Marion Fletcher and Mary Leighton. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 12:30-2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King St., Windsor, immediately followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be held at a later date in Belmont United Cemetery, Belmont, Hants Co. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Lewis may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, the Palliative Care Unit of Hants Community Hospital or to a charity of one's choice.
